    Frank Klepacki's soundtrack absolutely slaps on EVERY single C&C game he worked on.. I would kill to spend a day in his studio and discuss music making and production. He's seriously one of my favourite composers. He had a brief - "design us a soundtrack for a real time war strategy game'... and absolutely smashes it out of the park. It's amazing how much detail your imagination adds, because I was shocked when I installed the Remastered pack and then pressed 'Spacebar' to flip it back to the original pixelated graaphics and.. wow, they're not detailed AT ALL! But, for 1994, absolutely they were incredible.. with FMV cutscenes too. It was all cutting edge at the time. But, hearring the music as it was intended - fully Remastered in an HQ sound format too... It all sounds EVEN BETTER! 😭 Thanks for making this video. I've just completed NOD campaign in the OG C&C (took one day) and I'm going to skip to RA now and play a few games of that,

  • @nicholsliwilson

    I like “I end up having to play them.” Oh what a hardship. 😄 Great video, thanks. There are quite a few that are new to me here & that’s always a good thing but I guess that’s the point of a video like this? Bill’s Tomato Game was… a choice for a title. 😄 I hate timers, which is a shame because I don’t think I’ve played it & it otherwise looks like my kind of thing? I may download it anyway & see how it goes in the flesh. (So to speak.) Fascinating to see Amiga games as late as ‘97 but it does look & sound from what you’ve said like fun but again, timers can be a deal braker for me. I do know Statix & as simplistic as it looks it great fun! It’s not just another Tetris or Bejeweled clone, although it does have some similarities to both. Mega Motion is certainly original? The mechanics certainly do seem interesting? Seems like another to try & see how intrusive the timer is? Blobz! I’m pretty sure I learned about Blobz from you & it’s one I enjoy in spite of the &#*$ timer & level editors really enhance a puzzle game, especially when you inflict your own maps on other people. Extasy’s surprisingly not addictive… (sometimes my puns are so bad they hurt. 😄) Marbelelous 2 is not one I’ve played? Neither is Marbelelous 1 for that matter? Certainly seems interesting & it looks like it doesn’t have timers on every level & as ever level editors are a big plus. Zardoz certainly doesn’t look like it relates to the cult 70’s dystopian movie? Still it looks like a sci-fi themed Sokoban clone with a mother $@£& timer the devs can shove up their mother &£#€ %<|es with a big veiny #=@&¥! I’m not a fan of timers. Pictris seems like it has quite a generous timer but it still doesn’t grab me but I can see why others would like it.

    • @GouldFishOnGames
      @GouldFishOnGames 12 дней назад

      So I'm getting the idea that you don't enjoy timers in games. its a shame that so many puzzle games use them as a way of adding challenge. for most of them it wasn't too bad, but they were a real annoyance in some.

  • @Yesterzine
    @Yesterzine 13 дней назад

    Ah Bill's, an underrated classic, I didn't catch you saying but it's named after the author not the tomato. As you point out, the tomato is not Bill. Despite loving the game I share your concerns though, it needs neither timer nor lives.

    • @GouldFishOnGames
      @GouldFishOnGames 12 дней назад

      I think I did mention that it was named after the dev, but I might have cut that part. and yeah its a lovely game that didn't need the timers.

    I had the playable demo version of BILL'S TOMATO GAME from the magazine called THE ONE FOR AMIGA. Also, i admit, that i was a puzzle freak on my Commodore 64 and Amiga 500 😹😺👍🕹️. I would definitely like to replay TANGRAM from Thalion. It was one of my favorite games back in the early 1990's 😺👍🕹️. And who remembers the GOBLIIINS games from Coktel Vision 😺👍🕹️? I believe, i still have the playable demo version of the first GOBLIIINS game. I had the full game of EXTASY (loose) for my Amiga 500. The loading intro was brilliant 😺👍🕹️, but i couldn't start the game, because i had no manual to search for the code to proceed the game 😹🕹️.

    Yeh, I can’t fault you for your top 3, you covered it well… no pun intended. 😄 The One for Amiga: Blitz Bombers looks interesting & making the demo multiplayer only is a novel idea but yeh, I can’t see why it was A1200 only? Wooglies looks frustrating, what with a timer & enemy. I was going to point out grey Blanka then you did. 😄 Street Fighter was always a SNES game for me personally. CU Amiga Adorage, as you suggested, would have been something I’d have played with but not much more. I probably wouldn’t have even looked at PowerBase to be honest. Arcade Snooker is something I very much would have played back in the day! In fact I’m going to look for it now. Amiga CD32 Gamer: Yeh that certainly looks like an early version? Fun! Yehhh… videos don’t count as demos! As random as Algomusic‘s err… “music” goes it was pretty interesting. Gridrunner looks fun & I trust your judgement. That Simpsons game is… a thing?! Cracker would have worked for me too. Disney’s dream […] Pixar’s nightmare” well that aged like milk! 😄 Morton Strikes Back is may be upgraded smidge but what’s not to like? Ants is definitely something I would have played, it’s another I’m going to play. Amiga power: Ultimate Soccer Manager does nothing for me. MISSILE COMMAND! Let’s rock! I love Missile Command & I’m not a big fan of dev’s trying to do something different, so an arcade port like that would have worked for me. Spring Time is certainly it’s own thing? I hate timers but I can forgive them if they aren’t too restrictive. I agree, I don’t see why it didn’t get a full release? I’d have played it. Circus is fun for a mini game & the balloon thing sets it apart but the real game was somewhat forgiving. Amiga Action: Ultimate Soccer Manager does nothing for me. Mortal Cumquat… oh dear. Some people think they have a sense of humour that should be shared, others disagree. Did Ruffian get a release or does it just feel Toki like? Amiga Format: The name “TechnoSound Turbo II” is peek mid 90’s! 😂 Sensible Golf plays OK & playing against a mate was always fun but it didn’t last long.

    Wow that one magazine was the last Amiga mag ever got, couldn’t find a copy after, but now that all makes sense. the one was always my go to mag, think it was because it was the cheaper of the mags, and always gave cover disks.. still carried on plying my again until I left home around 98, 2 years later arrived home and there was a Playstion and the Amiga had found a new how in the loft, 20 years later and it’s back with me.thanks for all the memories!

      I might have been similar as I remember also getting that One Magazine, even if I wasn't able to play most of the demos. It was also around the time the hinting at a new computer would be good 😉

    Ah yes the controversial Amiga Power issue 51. The one where they reviewed the PC version of Flight of the Amazon Queen cause they found a game breaking bug when they tried the Amiga version and it delayed that version for a few months.

      So weird to think that Amazon Queen was originally an Amiga first game, and then its the version that got delayed!

      @@GouldFishOnGames yeah Amiga Power were surprised they even put a disclaimer in the magazine. The bug was at the very start of the game so no wonder it was pushed back.

    There is never too much content from you Mr Fish!. I did not get any of these magazines, I had swapped over to the PC by then. Doom and its multimedia just wowed me and I managed to get a second hand machine. The writing was definitely on the wall.

      Yeah it was starting to show that the end was coming for the machine, and that the original hardware was getting very old.

    About 2 months after this, the amount of games coming out and getting reviewed in magazines fell off a cliff. As your video shows, in retrospect the signs were all there.

      Yeah, Commodore being sold off and then escom having issues was really the end of the platform. as developers knew that it wasn't going to get better. Its funny that I think there are more new Amiga games in development now, then in the mid 90s

    26:48 some of the sounds and the option menu are ripped from shadow fighter

      I'm sure it borrowed quite a few sound effects and bits from other games 😁

    Algo Music had some really cool features. Shame the song titles were odd 😂

      Its a cool idea and I'm sure there are lots of interesting features, but I wasn't impressed with what came out of it for the CD32 Gamer CD 🤣

    Arcade Snooker just feels part finished, like they got 75% of the way into development and decided this wasn't really viable as a commercial game, but it WAS in a playable enough state to stick on a coverdisk. Quite amazing that once they decided to can further development they didn't even bother to remove the game-breaking save option, I mean how long would that have taken?

    • @GouldFishOnGames
      @GouldFishOnGames 22 дня назад

      I wonder if it had already been abandoned for a little while before they dusted it off and gave it to the magazine. it might explain why it had some broken features as it wasn't finished and they didn't have anyone around to clean it up. an oddity but I think its cool they did something with it.

      That is the one that has been mentioned more then any other, and I'll admit that was my fault I thought it was a PC title that was ported back to the Amiga. but it seems it was the other way around.
